Sam is a dedicated advocate for individuals with intellectual disabilities, with over a decade of experience. Sam graduated from Brigham Young University-Hawaii with an Associate Degree of Science and Arts and from Brigham Young University-Provo with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition. Sam participated in her first mental health internship with The Children’s Center in Kearns Utah when she was 17 years old and developed an unconditional love and devotion for the population and community. Sam has worked in a variety of roles in the field with providers such as: Direct Support Provider, Summer Program Supervisor/Director, Family Support Coordinator, Emergency Support and Crisis Intervention Team Member, Human Rights Committee Chairman, and Programs Director where she developed four summer programs, a day program, an after school program, and a social skills program. Sam also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician and has practiced ABA therapy for a year and half bilingually. Sam sees her life mission as advocating for people with intellectual disabilities and their families. In her spare time, Sam likes to paint, work out, travel, and make balloon animals. Sam is bilingual in Spanish.
